SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Norman is a senior project leader at GippLab. He completed his Ph.D. in computer science (summa cum laude) at the University of Konstanz. His doctoral research on AI-assisted plagiarism detection earned him the Airbus Research Award “Claude Dornier” in 2022. He additionally held research positions at the University of Wuppertal, the National Institute of Informatics in Tokyo, and the University of California, Berkeley, where he also co-founded the technology start-up SciPlore.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

His research focuses on artificial intelligence and information retrieval, with particular emphasis on developing intelligent methods to analyze and connect complex information. He is currently involved in several interdisciplinary research projects exploring innovative AI applications across various domains. He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed scientific publications, attracting over 3,000 citations and achieving an h-index of 32 according to Google Scholar.
