Shakib Yazdani

BIOGRAPHY
Shakib Yazdani is a PhD candidate at the GippLab at the University of Göttingen. He works on NLP for metadata enrichment of museum texts, focusing on named entity recognition and relation extraction, with applications in multimodality and continual learning. Prior to his PhD, he conducted his thesis research at DFKI in the MLT Lab, where he worked on topics such as sign language translation and continual learning. During his studies, he also worked with several leading research groups, including UKP Lab, CISPA, and DFKI, contributing to projects on stance detection, breaking multimodal CAPTCHAs, and sign language translation.
