SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Terry obtained his Habilitation from the University of Göttingen (Germany), a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Michigan – Dearborn (US), a master’s in Information Engineering from the Federal University of ABC (Brazil), and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Science & Technology from the Federal University of ABC. He also worked as a Ph.D. intern at the National Institute of Informatics (Japan) at the Aizawa Laboratory. In the industry, he worked at IBM Brazil for six years in several roles — software product manager, team leader, and IT specialist.
STUDENTS
Constantin Dalinghaus, Jonas Becker, Kia-Jüng Yang, Niklas Bauer, and Tianyu Yang are closely involved with Terry’s projects.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Terry’s research interests lie at the intersection of natural language processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence (AI), with a particular focus on how AI use influences and shapes human norms in writing, reading, and interpersonal communication.
Terry’s primary research interest topics are:
